Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 4, 2026

SightSolve ("we", "us", "our") operates the SightSolve browser extension and the website at sightsolveai.com (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Service or purchasing a subscription, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account & payment information. When you purchase a SightSolve Pro subscription, our payment processor Stripe collects your name, email address, and payment card details. We receive only your email address and a subscription identifier from Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.

License keys. We store a unique license key linked to your Stripe subscription in our database (hosted by Supabase). This key is used solely to verify Pro access within the extension.

Manage Subscription & key recovery. When you use the Manage Subscription page and enter your email address, we query Stripe to check whether a customer account exists for that email. If it does, we email you a one-time 6-digit verification code (valid about 10 minutes) via Resend. The code is held only in temporary server memory until it expires or is used, and is never written to our database. Once you enter the correct code, we can display your license key to you and open the Stripe billing portal. We do not retain email addresses entered on this page beyond the time needed to send the code.

Usage data. The extension tracks your daily question count and stores your license key locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Screenshots & questions. When you capture a question or type one, the image or text is sent to our server and forwarded to a third-party AI provider (Groq, running Meta Llama and OpenAI open models) to generate an answer. We do not store or log the content of your screenshots or questions after the answer has been generated.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share data only with the providers needed to run the Service, each acting on our behalf:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or ourselves.

4. Data Retention

We keep license-key records for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve billing disputes and meet legal obligations. Verification codes expire within about 10 minutes and are never stored. Screenshot and question content is not retained after an answer is produced. You may request deletion of your license-key record at any time by contacting us (see "Your Rights" below).

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not store payment card numbers, and verification codes and question content are held only transiently. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

6. International Users

SightSolve is operated from the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your location.

7. Cookies

Our website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Stripe may set cookies during checkout for fraud prevention and to operate its payment flow.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because the only personal data we hold is your email/subscription identifier and license key, you can exercise these rights — including deleting your record — by emailing us at lucaconti10@icloud.com. We do not sell personal information, so there is no "opt out of sale" to exercise. You can stop all data collection at any time by uninstalling the extension and cancelling your subscription.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. If you are under 18, you should use the Service and make any purchase only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
