Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using SightSolve (the "Service"). By using the Service, creating or activating a license key, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Use of the Service

SightSolve is a browser extension that uses AI to answer questions from screenshots and text. You may use it for personal, non-commercial study purposes in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for using the Service ethically and in compliance with the rules of your school, instructor, exam, or institution.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to cheat, plagiarize, or violate any academic-integrity policy, honor code, or exam rule that applies to you.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or create derivative works of any part of SightSolve.
• Share, sell, or distribute your license key to others.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to send excessive or automated requests to the Service.
• Submit content that is harmful, illegal, or that infringes the rights of others.

2. Subscriptions & Billing

SightSolve Pro is a recurring monthly subscription processed and managed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

• Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
• You may cancel at any time via the Manage Subscription page. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused time.
• Prices may change with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to your next renewal.

3. License Keys

Upon successful payment, you receive a unique license key tied to your subscription. A copy is emailed to the address you provided at checkout — keep it safe. The key is for your personal use only. If your subscription is cancelled or a payment fails, the key is deactivated and Pro access ends.

4. Managing Your Subscription

You can cancel, update your payment method, view invoices, or recover a lost key at any time via the Manage Subscription page. Two methods are available:

• Email verification — enter the email address you used at checkout and we email you a one-time 6-digit code (valid about 10 minutes). Entering the code lets you view your license key and open the billing portal. No password required.
• License key — paste the key that was emailed to you when you subscribed. Check your spam folder if you cannot find it.

5. Free Tier

Free users receive 30 credits per day (1 credit per screenshot, 0.2 credits per text question). Credits reset daily. We may adjust free-tier limits at any time.

6. AI Content, Accuracy & "As Is"

Answers are generated by AI and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any answer before relying on it. SightSolve is a study aid, not a source of professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise). The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

7. Intellectual Property

SightSolve and its underlying code, design, and branding are owned by SightSolve AI. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SightSolve AI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from academic, disciplinary, or exam outcomes, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and cancelling your subscription.

10. Governing Law & Severability

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
